A 60th, 70th, 80th or 90th birthday present about them

For a birthday that marks a lifetime, give them their story: the decades of their life, written into a book they can hold.

  • Start early: tell us the birthday and we plan the chapters around it
  • Or give the invitation on the day, and the book follows
  • Family can add memories and photos
  • Printed and delivered, or a PDF to share with everyone

How it works

  1. Choose a book and send the invitation

Add a personal message and choose when it arrives.

  2. They answer at their own pace

By speaking or typing, or you sit down and do it together.

  3. Read every chapter

You and the storyteller review each chapter and ask for changes.

  4. The book arrives

A PDF to share, or a printed book delivered to the door.

Questions

Who answers the questions?

The person whose story it is (we call them the storyteller). If you buy the book as a gift, you invite them with a link and they answer at their own pace. You can also sit together and answer it with them, or family members can add memories and recordings.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes. Buy the book and invite the storyteller by email, add a personal message and choose when they get the invitation. You can also buy a gift voucher.

Can the storyteller speak instead of typing?

Yes. Every question can be answered by voice in the browser, and you can upload existing recordings (MP3, M4A or WAV). You check the written-out text before it is used, so names and places are spelled right.

What if I do not like a chapter?

Leave comments on the chapter and we change only that chapter, showing you the text before and after. Two rounds of changes per chapter are included. Nothing is final until you approve it.

How does payment work?

You choose at checkout: pay a deposit now and the rest chapter by chapter, just before each new chapter is written, or pay everything at once and get a discount. You only pay for a chapter when you are happy to continue.

Will I see the book before it is printed?

Yes. You see a page-by-page preview and the cover, and you approve the exact version that will be printed. Because every book is personal, printed books cannot be returned after that approval, so please check it carefully.
